Ever since the 1300’s, Palazzo Vecchio has been home to good wine, but it was only in 1980 that a project was developed that allowed Palazzo Vecchio to present, in 1990, its first bottle of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. In fact, from the very first bottle, it was clear that the wine was special. The fine wines we produce are the the fruit of hard work and soils that are particularly suited to viticulture, as all the pedological tests and studies reveal. The vineyards of Palazzo Vecchio are all positioned around the main estate, with Montepulciano and Cortona on either side. All the work in the vineyards is done by hand: 25 hectares are used for Vino Nobile, with Bosco vineyard being the oldest, at more than 60 years old. We grow both red and white grapes: the white are picked at a different time and used for our authentic Vin Santo. We also produce a small amount of extra virgin olive oil which is sold only in our shop, which is always open.
Lunches and dinners around the large table of friendship, tastings, visits to the wine cellar and the walks along the vineyards are part of organized tours in Palazzo Vecchio. They will give you the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, typical Tuscan dishes and products gathered in the garden but mostly you will be welcome with sympathy and friendship.
Reservation not needed only for simple wine tastings, tours and other event only on reservation.
