It was an agonizing decision but after so many years at Vinitaly we will not take part at the fair in Verona this year because it’s too dispersive and chaotic in his organization, but we will be present again at ProWine in Dusseldorf in which the most of our customers are interested in and it is more conform to our needs.
In the period of Vinitaly and at any other times we are going to organize short WorkShop hosting at Palazzo Vecchio all the customers which want to taste our wines and we will be glad to welcome you with our warm hospitality.
Thanks for your attention, best regards and good work Palazzo Vecchio
As the harvest came in, the grapes were picked over and pressed and then transferred into standard stainless steels vats for fermenting and remontage, a process that is fundamental for extracting the tannins that give structure and color to the wine.
It was a good season and the harvest was one of the best in the past few years. Vines unaffected by springtime hail produced grapes that were almost perfect thanks to an ideal growing season. The year began with a rainy winter and the springtime was gentle, July was hot and there were welcome rains in August that permitted us to harvest excellent quality grapes.
The usually chaotic and exciting Vinitaly world offered many nice surprises for Palazzo Vecchio which presented its new wines and in particular Nobile "Maestro" 2013, with an intense ruby red color with complex aromas and important but not aggressive tannins, the Riserva 2010 and Rosso 2014 and this last one was appreciated for his great drinkability once again.
Our goal is to use natural fertilizer in all the vineyards in a traditional manner, with the sowing of the broad bean* for green manure*. In this way we increase the organic substances in the soil and we have greater soil fertility thanks to the production of nitrogen, an element which is good for healthy vegetative cycle of the grapevine.
*green manure consists of rotating the soil with certain plants in order to increase the fertility of the soil
* broad bean is a leguminous plant that increases thenitrogen in the soil
